NEW ORD
« on: September 10, 2009, 06:19:21 PM »
I am a do it all love almost every aspect of the game player. I prefer good fights but I dive bomb and lvl bomb and even gv competently now. However I find every time I up I just wish I could take NAPALM or some other ordinance, maybe napalm could deal dmg in excess like a 1k bomb to buildings etc with a nice big radius while being almost useless versus tanks etc I dunno how they would go about and render/introduce new ord. I just know I feel like currently ordinance wise we have like 5 different forks and I want a spoon or knife if you catch my drift. We simply only have the plain bomb and I would like to take up a different utensile of death ^.^

Napalm really would be practically useless in AHII, it'd be more of an anti-troop bomb which, if you think about it, a 500lb in the general vacinity of any troop = bye!
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Which would be neat, imho, because right now a troop needs to get physically HIT with a bullet in order to die...even if you put a volley of 8" guns within 5 feet of them, they keep on runnin.

With this, you would have a choice, and defenders would have something else to use against attacks, and ord is even more vital tokill when attacking a base.

We have the "plain" bomb because that is the vast majority of what was used in WWII. If you want different types of ord, you'll have to fly in a different era. I recommend Janes F-15. GBU's, CBU's, runway busting Durandals, Mavericks and HARMs. And oh yes, they still have the "dumb bomb", very similiar to how it was produced in the 1940's.

So, it's more historical realism than HTC holding back new laser bombs from us.

I think some sort of incendary bomb would be good. As for historical use, we fire bombed japan enought that if we have the tiger, then we shouldn't have incendiaries kept from us because the "didn't see enough use".

I heard from somewhere some time ago about the firebombing of major cities in Germany. What I heard was in some places the heat was so intense that it literally melted concrete, steel, etc. etc. I doubt my source was correct, but I thought I'd share the fun (almost) fact.

In any case, we certainly did incendiary the $&!^ outta Germany.

(Do note it is 11:10PM after I've been rockin' out on guitar hero for quite some time, my mental status is sub-par and facts may indeed not be facts but lies, damned lies. Double check me.)

But we didn't incendiary the soup out of troops or use them as much in a tactical nature until very late in the war.

Besides, the way damage is set up it would be difficult to implement.

I don't see why we cant get some of the earlier bombs like napalm and some of the crude scattering shapnel types they had. These bombs could very easily be done in a rudementry way I believe with the game think of this napalm 500 lber  it could deal as much as a 1000 lber to objects but half to vehichles and the like. Thus if your an attacker and you plan to be hitting town you could take up good ole napalm for your town slaying and save on some weight or something or hell maybe it wouldn't be that effective but it could still have a wider radius than your normal bombs for purpose of town mauling etc. Don't know how hard this would be to implement but napalm and fire bomb and a plethora of other unhealthy objects were dropped from planes in ww2 all I am saying is can we get a new bomb in some way to spice up the tool shed.

wong way, I don't think a legitimate defense is "but we didn't firebomb the soup out of troops or use them as much in a tactical nature until very late in the war" A LOT of vehicles and AC in the game are being used in ways they weren't used in real life. They didn't lancstuka, or drop their bombs and bail, or use a tank to drop a town, or use a wirb to de ack town.
