Dots and AC camo and carrier ops...
« on: November 19, 2000, 09:15:00 PM »
Just a thought...

Ok as it is now an AC at a distance is a black dot visible for miles.  My suggestion is would it be possible to instead of a Black dot, to use the predominant colour of the aircraft for the dot.  Once the carriers appear, torpedo attacks will be hell, due to the enemy being able to spot the AC from miles away.  Taking the Avenger for example its predominant colour is dark blue.  A dark blue dot low against the water texture maybe more difficult to spot than the current black.  This would also help the goon drivers as well, instead of black they would be a green dot.

Just a thought, be nice if it is possible to do.

I'm all for it, but if they are at the correct angle with the sun in front of them, you should see a bright reflection off the fuselage/canopy.

That would be great. I would love to see a far away blue plane be a blue dot. After all, that's why they were blue on top and white on the bottom. With everything being a black dot, it is so easy to spot anything, anywhere.

My problem is also seeing phantom shadows on hillsides and things. What are these?
