Keep them out of the game and make it so tanks can actually drive through hedgerows and not flip when they hit a tiny baby tree.
If you can drive through hedgerows (or anything else), you can shoot through them too. Then everyone would whine about not having enough cover.
The hedgerows are to replicate the hedges of France, which were strong enough that a normal tank couldn't push it over.
There are technical limitations due to polygon interaction of how objects collide, which is what causes flipping tanks. If you don't run into a pinpoint at a strange angle, you won't flip. The only time I ever remember flipping a tank at normal speeds was due to getting run over by the supply convoy taking a tour around the vehicle base.
