Congrats, Redcoats!
« on: September 15, 2009, 01:06:12 PM »
Today is Battle of Britain Day in Merrie Olde England.  I'm ashamed I nearly forgot.  Thank you all for your forebears' sacrifices.

Two days ago was the 250th aniversary of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham outside the walls of Quebec City.  September 13th 1759.

The Britsh forces soundly defeating their long standing enemy the French and running them out of North America. The course of this continent was changed forever. If it had gone the other way quite possibly our southern cousins would be sippng wine and speaking French today instead of swilling beer and mangled English.  :)

Tragically both commanders Wolfe and Montcalm were killed on the battlefield.  :salute
