Bizzare Foods,
« on: September 16, 2009, 01:48:56 AM »
Watched that show tonight. He was Africa with a Bush Tribe. Those folks were amazing. Made everything they used; Rope, arrows, etc. They gathered honey, nuts, and caught wild game. Made poison arrows from some beetle larvae for which there is no antidote. One guy knocked a Black Mamba out of a tree from 40 feet away with a sling shot.  They had to kill it because they are territorial and if you are bitten you get 5 steps before you die. Not sure if that completely accurate but is a deadly snake. One thing that surprised me was that they shot their arrows really accurately and the arrows did not have any feathers.  They also hate Porcupine. To do that they dug into a 50ft porcupine colony hills. Wow. I think they were called giant porcupines.

They are amazing people.  40-50,000 years ago, the Bushmen were the most advanced Homo-sapiens in Africa.  I saw a documentary where a geneticist has traced genetic markers in our blood from Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Australia back to the Bushmen of Africa.

Do a search on Spencer Wells and The Journey of Man. :)
