Sound question
« on: November 26, 2000, 12:55:00 PM »
I understand each the sounds for each aircraft can be customized.  For example, you can place different eng.wav and gear.wav sounds in the spit9 and yak9u directories and get different engine and gear sounds for the spitfire 9 and yak planes.

I'm a little confused by the gun sounds.  I have them working, but I'm not sure what's going on.

For example, m2_2, m2_3, m2_4, and m2_5 appear to be machine gun sounds.  The numbers _2, _3 & etc (my guess) correspond to the sounds for 2, 3, 4 & 5 machine guns, is this right?

My real question is this:  Where can I find a complete listing of the sound files and their proper location.

Proper location I think is pretty basic, as per the listing on the HT website.
but without the list and specs on the sounds for different AC it would take alotta work to figure out the list manually...

Ya the machine gun sounds (and cannons) are a pain in the butt to map out manually.

m2_2 and m2_3 are generally the MG's of mixed set planes (LW, P-38, Yak, Zeke, etc)

I've tried to get the P-51 (in the six gun configuration) to use all of them, but even with staggered pitchs it seems to use only 4.
