PT Boat
« on: September 21, 2009, 08:43:35 AM »
The new patch notes state:

"•All cannons and machine guns, in the PT boat, are now grouped together for use with the "fire all" function."

Do I take this to mean that all the guns will now all fire much like all the guns of a buff formation?  I don't take PT boats much but I tried one yesterday and I only saw one gone firing at a time.  Am I missing something?  Or am I just misunderstanding the quote?

Thanks,
SKRider

Indeed it's just like in a bomber - all guns on a PT boat will fire,
If you saw firing only one at a time, your fire button is mapped to "fire primary", not "fire all". Check your settings (don't forget it's Mode 2 if modes are still auto-selecting)

I have a two stage trigger on my X52.  How do I set it to fire primary only on partial pull, then fire all on full pull?  Right now it fires everything on the PT, and I do not always want to do that.  The help is appreciated...

If you go to map settings and pick the stick...lightly pull the trigger and the first stage will show up  I think button 3 or something make this your primary guns, when that is done fully pull the trigger and you will see it jumps to about button 14 or 15...something like that. From there you can either make it fire all guns or secondary.....I myself have that as fire all guns and the button with the flip guard is my secondary weapons only.

The button as secondary is a better choice IMHO. On my Ch I have trigger primary and side button right side of stick as secondary. In my 38 sometimes I only fire a secondary burst which is the 20 mm.

With my X-52 Pro, button 0 is 1st stage, button 14 is second stage of the trigger

I made use of the MODE system to assign different setups to the trigger

mode 1 - fire primary / fire secondary
mode 2 - fire secondary / fire primary (I use this mostly for BF109 or Spit V-IX, where I usually fire cannon only, unless attacking bombers))
so both mode 1&2 fire all weapons when trigger is fully pulled

mode 3 - fire all / - (I use it for all GV's and for planes with one type of gun armament only, like P-51D)

One button on the stick is programmed to toggle through the modes.

I have tried to set the modes but have failed. Do you use the pinky switch as a shift key ?

On a side note for waystin... IActually use my pinky button to fire secondary only not the other as stated( That is actually used to toggle between weapons)

Not as a shift key, it's simply my AH mode select button.

Now to mode changin itself. First, disable "auto selection" of modes in AH. Then do as follows: In mode 1, map "Global Mode 2 select" to that button. In mode 2, map "Global Mode 3 select" and finally on mode 3 map "Global mode 1 select".
