Is bailing from tanks the same as bailing from planes.

It seems to be, several times tonight I had hit a panzer iv in a corsair really hard. As I looked back over my shoulder It blew up. No kill message, nothing. Happend twice.
Surly you dont get to bail from a tank and that is it. No second shot allowed? they will bail every time...

Now there is something I hadn't thought of...

Hypothetically, if you were alone and surrounded by ground attack aircraft in RL, would you stay in the tank or run like crazy?

And how long would it take to clear the craft?

But for myself, if I drive for an hour to get somewhere, I'm at least going to try to take some of the bad guys with me. For that matter, how many are really gonna take the time to RTB in a tank anyway?

They have to rethink allowing a bailed out tank to disapear and not award the kill.
Obviosly there is no relevence to "ditching" the panzer. So being on the ground does not indicate safty for the tank. Yet in the game the same mechanic is still in place. They should not let you return to base if you are still in the tank. you must bail out first. so if someone hit you they get the kill for it.

Don't forget: them tanks is tough bastidges, and they are often disabled (blown Engine, thrown tracks) and abandoned.
Heck, I took one out for the first time, and some cannon-hawg jockey tried to HO me (Realistic or not, use your superior turning ability to make your run on the part of the tank the turret is not pointing to; or come in high).  He blew my engine and a track before taking an HE round to the cockpit.
I just got out and walked

Yes...and did he get a kill? that is my point. He had done his job, he had destroyed your vehicle.

Quick-n-dirty solution: in vehicles, allow .ef/exit only on bases.  EVerywhere else, enter-enter-enter, like the rest of us.

well think about it, he really didn't get a kill, if the pilot of the tank bailed, he can still walk back to his base, get another vehicle, and go out again.  Now if he was in the tank when it was blown up, then ya thats a kill, it may start u back at the tower, but you'll still died right

Kills in real life are independent of the survival of the pilot or crew..it is strictly an equipment releated concept.

I agree - if you damage a tank and it is destroyed or abandoned, you should get a kill.

That's how they did it in real life folks!
