I live just 100 miles north of Beale AFB and I have yet to see a U2 in flight.

I did get to see an SR71 when it did a fly by at the local airshow a few years back and that was awesome.

Great footage, I'd love to do that someday.

Frequently the U2s that fly out of Beale AFB come over here to Chico and practice flameouts at our airport.

A couple months ago at the Beale Airshow, they had a U2 do a high speed pass at 70k. Just a small contrail to mark its location.

104 knots indicated at the edge of space.

I didn't realize it was "Captain Slow" (James May) from Top Gear until the helmet came off.

Yep, 500 feet takeoff roll, its closer to a glider than a true jet.

They didn't fabricate that U2 just for Top Gear, did they?!
