« on: September 27, 2009, 11:42:50 AM »
Wiki says it has 150 rounds for eash of its cannon but in game we only have 200 all together.

I would also like to see some of those other gun packages 30mm in a KI84 = PWN

30mm never saw action, depending on the source, they were made in single digits, and the 30mm japanese guns were terrible.

P.S. It's always had 300 rounds. Might want to check your ammo counter once in a while ;)

They were made.... a few hundred... Whether they saw service? Doubtful. I don't know if anybody on this forum's found records for which units (if any) received them.

So far as I know, they saw service.  Between 300 and 500 were built.

I've only seen 94 known and a few "possibles" for the Ki-84-Ib.   Four sources right now.   Unless you are talking about the "entire production run" of the Hayate series.

"entire production run" was in the thousands, last I remember. So definitely not what I was thinking of. I seem to recall 300 or so being tossed around as the 4x20mm production number, but haven't gone looking for the source.

The numbers I have been lead to believe were about 200 preproduction Ki-84s, a bit over 3,000 Ki-84-1a, about 300 Ki-84-1b and less than 10 Ki-84-Ic.  Total production was just over 3,500.

I should also note that the Ki-84-1a run used a variety of engines, from the lower power Ha-45-11 to the much more powerful Ha-45-21.

cc, I misinterpreted the numbers request then and only thought of the Ki-84Ib's with the quad 20's.

You are saying that the Japanese made a "few hundred" (curious on where you got this figure) and are doubtful they saw service?  That is really an astonishing assumption you are making.

Twice as many Me262s were made as ever saw service. Most of them sat parked waiting to get bombed. The Japanese military machine was in a bad way (way worse than the German industry was). Yes, that is exactly what I said.

If you have info that says they "did" see service, please provide it. Otherwise.... why did you single me out for your comments?

Your casual dismissal of them ever seeing combat was what inspired me to respond.
