I've had good luck with 2 Samsung 22" monitors.  That 23" looks real nice.

If you have the money, go for it...nice specs.

There are other really nice choices too, depending on what your plans are with it...besides playing AH.

Viewsonic 23in 120Hz
3 yr warranty.

Otherwise I'd save some money and go with a mid to high acer:

I'm not sure about the Acer monitors, one of my customers just had one quit over the weekend and it's only 4 months old.  I'll post about how they handled the warranty after I'm able to contact them.

Acer's quality is much to be desired.

Straffo, those are excellent monitors and you get what you pay for.  Sammies are excellent.

Only had this 22" Acer for about 3-4 months, think so anyways, but it's doing darn well.  Picture looks great and I handle my electronics rough, monitor included, so they can't be all bad. :)

I go by what friends and family members have experienced.   More on the "failure" side than "success" side.   I'm not hitting Newegg and foisting their reviews.   I've had this LG for 3 years and not a single, dead pixel.

But, he asked for comments on the Samsung.

My first hand experience is that you cannot buy a monitor on specs any more. (Whether Samsung is any worse than any other mfg I can't say - but my own bad experience was with them).

I've had Samsung 2494HM for almost a year now and I have been very satisfied with it :)

HI,
I have a Samsung TOC 220 I really like, I don't have any ghosting  to speak of. The one complaint I see of the LCD monitors like this and others is the base. The base on this is plastic and there are some complaints about them being wobbly. There going to wobble as much as the surface you put it on.Mine sits on a oak desk ,i have no wobbly problems at all. I put a link here if you like to see the model http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001273

Bought a Samsung SyncMaster 2033 about 9 months ago, it works great!  I trusted the Samsung brand, good enough specs for me, at a decent price.  :aok
