Converting gunsight
« on: September 28, 2009, 06:10:18 PM »
Got my favorite 190 sight !'ve used for years in WarBirds - maybe even back as long ago as my WB's 2.xx days. It would be nice to use it here but my techno-dweeb status is a distinct hinderence. It's some sort of file that goes into the main program folder but what it is I haven't a clue.

Here is a screen capture of it - I can send someone the WB file too. - its called a "defgst3.gst".

Any ideas? solutions??  Anyone recognize it and point me to one here in AH??

thanx
cheers eh!

Send it to me Wreked. I'll dink around with it and see if I can get it to work in AH. The sight files in AH are .bmp files...so it should just be a matter of converting that one to fit the file type.

The file is not an image, but position data for "on" pixels in the gunsight, it looks like. Open it in Notepad and you'll see.

It doesn't look like it'd be that hard to just recreate it in an AH-compatible way.

Hi Wreked!

Used to play Warbirds also, with same name(Mutley) :aok

Using your Warbirds gunsight, made a similar one for AH. The color is dark red because is renders better in AH. Named it Wreked.

Please try this one and post comments, if it needs correction, etc

Before posting, I checked it in AH. Was ok. Uploaded to Mediafire.

After your post, downloaded the sight into AH, with different name, it works.

Please download the one from Mediafire only.

It is working here.

Did it work for you? I mean, did you install and check it?

If it works,  glad to help.
