The people that were doing the lobbying would have made a bundle.  The people that would not profit would have paid for it too.

Yea, Alanta did loose a lot of money.  Salt Lake did vary well.

Besides having the Olympic in South America, i know it was in Mexico City, ummmmm..........72 i believe.  That is when two black athletes lost their medal because they where a member of the Black Panthers and showed it when they received their medal. But it seems like the Northern hemisphere gets both summer and winter Olympics. Lat time there was a summer Olympic in the southern was in Synde.

Nice they will be having it INside South America and Brazil.

I've been to Rio many times. They have a lot of work to accomplish to get ready. Plus they have social issues to get under control.  That's the most dangerous city I visit but it sure is fun.

This is a fantastic decision by the Olympic committee imo.   :aok

Imagine being an olympic athlete and given the choice:  Chicago or Rio?

Yeah, and the IOC cut softball and baseball from the olympics.  Need I mention that the IOC is vastly made up of Euros?
