Country ENY
« on: October 04, 2009, 12:02:37 AM »
I was in EW and there were 6 Bish, 0 Nits, & 2 Rooks on; country ENY respectively for each was 0, 0 ,0.  Now I switched to Nit from Rook  (so 6B,1N,1R) just to see what would happen and the ENYs became 10.9, 0, 0 respectively.  This is outrageous, unconscionable and inequitable!  Why was there no ENY (value greater than 0) assigned to the Bish (maybe to the Rooks also)?

HTC, it is my opinion that there should be an ENY in effect when 1 country has 0 players on and the other 2 chess pieces do have players on; make the score-tards work for it, especially in-light of the time ya'll took to code the new ENY & OBJ values for the plane set.

Thank you for taking the time to read my rant.

I'm curious about a few things:
1) Is there actually a noticeable skill difference between countries? I have to think that every country complains about its tards.
2) Is there a default country you are automatically made a part of when you join? If there is, it could explain your comment (I was "assigned" to Bish when I first joined).

Just wondering.

There is obviously no ENY penalty when one country is zero because there is no one on to benefit.

The logical alternative would be to make an "empty" country's bases uncapturable, as there is no one to capture them from.

The "loop-hole" would be to have one of your countrymen switch to the empty side and sit by whit his new country is rolled.

Tacky.

Hmm.  Had never looked at it as a "benefit" for the other two countries; I'd always viewed i9t as a "penalty" for the country with the horde of players on.  Interesting POV there that you give us.

1) No... every country has good players, and bad ones.  It just depends on who is on at the time.
2) Not that I am aware of.  I think the first time you sign on you are randomly assigned to a team.  If I am wrong, I am SURE someone will correct me though  :lol

This would explain it except for the fact that he said 6B and 2R that would make 75% Bish and there should have been ENY because Rooks would benefit.

Yep, the best way to screw the high-number side if one country has zero players is to switch to the zero-number side - then ENY kicks in.

Yep, the very first time you create an account and go online, you are assigned to a default country (not sure if it's Bish or what...might be "country 0").  Once you've been in an arena and chosen a side, next time you come back to that arena, you'll be on the side you last were when you left that arena.

I am not sure if the Bishops are a default country or not when a new person joins Aces high. It seems like we have many more zip code players on the rooster then the Rooks and Knights. This would explain why we as Bishops have so few defenders at a base and always the same few guys trying to hold it in LW. Even when we have a large number advantage we are still out numbered at a base under attack. But years ago I was a Rook and it looked the same to me from the Rook side too. So maybe it is how it is in all countries regardless if one country is a default country or not. Ones own perception is not always fact or so I hear.
