It seems like thats especially prevailent amont iphone users....   All the black berry people I've seen seem content to use it as a phone and to look up directions....

Actually, there is.  It would be significantly easier to either print out or use the clipboard for the maps the OP is asking for...Instead he wants them on his cellphone, which seems not only ridiculous but not very practical as well.

For those of us that can still see small details, it'd be just fine. Especially since you can zoom in. Besides, if it were possible, I wouldn't mind a small project like that to learn the very basics of software development, even if it is in the restricted environment that Apple gives you.

lets see, i think most every fighter school ,   ever,   made you read books,in order to get into the air!
i know they have massive amonts of classroom time at all the major training facilities!
and you don't just show up at top gun and say, "i am a pilot and you can't teach me nothing!"
 the fact that you learned how to "dogfight" without reading any books, does not mean you will not get better after reading some!
 it does however give me ease in the fact that if i see you i won't be near as worried! :aok

I think people don't get the whole concept. Mainly its a thing to check server and nation updates. Say Im at work Im wondering how my nation is doing on say titanic Tuesday. Pull out my Blackberry and check on it. See how say friends are doing and perhaps in server messages. Seeing as you have the whole server thing why not add all the relivant clipboards charts and maps together
