I couldn't find who posted it but I also thought it is very important that the semi final and final fights be best of 5 fights or best of 7 fights.  Maybe the semifinal best of 5 and the final best of 7.  Baldeagl, it's important because when top pilots duel, fights turn into mind games where strategies and counter strategies are planned before duels based on previous encounters, and 3 duels imo, is a crapshoot in determining the better pilot on that day.  Personally, I'd make all the fights best of 5 matchups and the final would be best of 7.  A request for future implementation.   :salute
Take it from the beginning.  As a poster child for not-top-pilots, everyone could use more fights.

I won't make a change for this tournament as the rules are the rules everyone signed up for.  I will consider it for the future but have resisted similar ideas in the past as it lessens the "any given Sunday" effect of limiting it to best of three.  Saying that I will reconsider but make no promises.

Best of 5 might negate an "advantage" one player might have with being much more familiar with the initial plane.

Thats the only reason I beat TC actually. I knew going into it that the only chance I had of winning would be to win the first round in doras. If I didnt win it would have been me picking a KI84 second round and him finshing me off with a Hog in the last round. Im all for 5+ rounds in every fight getting up to say 9 to 11 fights for the championship :devil :salute

I was inferring for future events.  Especially the finals.  Imo it is crucial that the finals be extended to best of 5 or 7.

I don't mind so much if the earlier rounds are best of 3 - "Any given Sunday" is fine for early rounds. The semis and finals though should be longer. By the end, I think most pilots would prefer the more skilled flyer wins, and having a longer series means the better pilot is more likely to win.

I disagree guys, if it make any difference.

Three rounds is more than enough for the final (i lost the last one 2-1 so I am not biased). The point is to bring your A game right away, just my opinion.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

how I enjoyed our fights truely so, JunkyII, I got to remind you and even those who flew in the last SATKoth.....

I am flying wounded, right damaged shoulder, arm and nerves/nerve endings that is getting worse.......( left hand typing strongly benefiting though ).....
I posted a hint of it when I initially signed up for this tourney..... and after debating whether to withdraw from it or not, I did not want to give you 2 byes in a row....... how ever much pain it put me in..... the fights were memoriable and fun

edited to stand out: but I am with BaldEagl regarding the any given sunday, best of 3...... as was asked for, dismissed and reconciled in the first Tourney.....

especially after trying my butt off try to win 2 rounds to qualify for the KOTH TOC coming up soon.......
last Sat Night ( Evil Mission Con Night ), I actually went and won my 1st round of the entire year.......now all I got to do is try next few KOTH events and try and win at least 2....... God willing.....

I wish you all the best of luck in making it to the quarter/smi/and final rounds  :salute

edit again: JunkyII won our match up straight up, and I do not want to imply that I am using an excuse of being injured for the reason I lost, he beat me fair and square  :salute

Well TC, if it makes you feel any better I fought Tec with a case of tennis elbow.  I'm not sure if any of you have ever had it but it's an inflamation or tear of the tendons that hold your forearm muscle to the outside of your elbow.  Anything that has anything to do with that muscle hurts like h@ll... lifting, using your wrist, gripping with your fingers, pulling with that arm, etc.  Of course I have a twisty stick and twisting my wrist during our duels was not a good thing.

I'm not blaming the loss on it.  Tec beat me straight up.  My adrenaline was pumping and I hardly noticed it at the time but it did set back my recovery.  In fact it seems I do something almost every week that sets back my recovery.  It's too hard not to want to use your dominant hand/arm, plus, sometimes you just need two.  It's been 8-10 weeks now and I can actually lift a coffee pot or a pitcher with that arm again but only once or twice per day.

Anyway I'm about 80% again and hope to get back into the game soon.  I visited the doctor after 4-6 weeks and she said about the only thing I could do was baby my arm so I've been laying low partly because of this.

Sounds like HTC needs to invest in some trainers.  I'm talking real trainers, to help its virtual pilots on the recovery process from injuries and get them back up in the skies as quickly as possible!

should have just typed......... best 2 out of 3 fights........ is best way........

heya Bald,
you going to try and fit one more of these in before the end of the year?
