Got the game last week, and I must say they did a REALLY GREAT job with the realistic driving. I must dare state its close to Grand Turismo   :uhoh

I am really enjoying the career mode and online, I would suggest a def buy on this game  :aok

Rented it the other week and didn't want to take it back, might look into buying it.  The wife will probably end up getting it for my b-day though.  The career was awesome, I was steadily working through Tier II and finally had a 2nd place finish that broke my 1st place streak.  My little Nissan 350 was a little hard to control once I hit all 3 tiers of mods to it.  The thing was just too fast to hold the track, I really had to ease into it and couldn't smack the gas coming out of turns, pretty realistic.  The graphics are amazing too just wish they could cut down a little on the load time.

Is NFS finally allowing the cars to get smashed up? I was never into racing games, but I remember that was a major complaint about the series going ALL the way back to the original.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Would this be a good game for my 5 year old?  I'm thinking he would like a fun racing game.  Ideally, I would like something somewhat educational if possible.

There is no cussing, so yes it would be appropriate.   The rating is "E" (Everyone) and my 8 year old son enjoys it immensely.

Yes, its pretty awesome too, a high-speed crash will nearly knock out the driver. The screen goes very dark grey, the heavy panting sets in, and then when you come to the windshield is cracked and the front is smashed in.

pretty awesome

Only thing I dislike about it is the fact that they dropped the free drive aspect...it's all track courses.

Being used to Gran Tourismo and Forza 2, not sure tha'd bother me too much.
