That's pretty much it

Only if I can be a Rook in it.
A Rook who first flew 09/26/03 at the age of 13, has been a GL in 10+ Scenarios, and was two-time Points and First Annual 68KO Cup winner of the AH Extreme Air Racing League.

No, that is not what he's asking for.  While I don't agree with an arena like he's wishing for, I understand why he's asking for it.  I wouldn't mind seeing that if you switch sides, you cannot take command of a CV for an hour.  That would help prevent some players for switching sides with the express intent of taking control of a CV, steering it to their squadron mates or buddies on the other side and letting the CV be sunk.

There has been a lot of cases in the MW arena where members of a squadron have been switching sides to do what I mentioned above and also to report the location of the CV to their squadron mates on the other team.  Rodent's wish has nothing to do with circumventing the ENY but to make the playing field a little more fair by preventing 'tard like game play behavior.

Also, by not being able to switch, you don't bypass the ENY since if you're side is affected by it you're stuck with the ENY penalties.  In case you didn't realize that.

You are exactly right as to what his reason for asking is Ack-Ack...

Think about it though.  An arena set up in this manner would provide some interesting possibilities:

1) It would attract the "win the war" crowd versus the "looking for a fight" crowd, and would eliminate a lot of the bickering that goes on between those two camps.  No longer would you hear "why did you have to take the base, we were having a good fight here?" or "why didnt you help up take the base instead of just furballing?"

2) It could be set up in a manner that you pick a team the first time you log into that arena for the tour, and have to stay with that team for the whole tour.

3) An additional scoring category could be set up for that arena based on which side won the most "wars" for the tour.  You could also keep track of how long it took to do it.

4) When the map resets, so could the "era" that the map will be fought in (EW, MW or LW) so the arena would attract players who enjoy flying all types of aircraft, and provide some variety that isnt seen in any of the MA's right now.

Would it attract as many players as the LW arenas?  No.  But it might attract as many or more than MW does on a given day (most I have seen in MW at one time is around 40), and therefore would be a viable arena in its own right.  It would provide another option for the type of gameplay that we dont exclusively have.

It would be kindof like FSO in the manner that you play on one side for an entire tour, but you dont have to wait for Fridays to do it.

Just my 2 cents...

I doubt you will ever see such an arena, and also not

HTC has even removed the "country vs country" kill stats because

It was decided to drop the country specific stats.  It does nothing more than enforce the country-centric thinking we would like to see go away.

if you cant switch sides then there is no way you could have eny because people would be stuck on one side.

Knights: 100
Rooks: 50
Bishops: 15

ENY kicks in.

Now, try and explain how it wouldn't kick in when the numbers are out of whack?

No side switching at all doesn't make sense.  Limiting switches much more severely would be workable, i.e. 1 switch per week or month.

Only if HTC would automatically assign players logging in to each country.

I doubt players would like that ;)
