I see most people (my self included) are unhappy with the Icons the way they are today    

We also know that there has to be icons.

But cant it be possible to tone them down some more, make them more transparent or anything like that ?

Have you played Star-Wars Pod Racer, (My kid does)    
Above the pods there are numbers of the competitors 1, 2, 3 and so on.
These are transparent and are not obstructing the view at all, something like that could work in AH.

We actually dont need any colors on the icons either, since we got that little chess piese mark in front of the name to identify the country.

So this is my wish: Smaller, transparent gray icons, gray no matter if the plane is enemy or friendly, this way we actually have to consentrate a bit more to spot the enemys.
That way we are still having Icons, but WAY more difficult to  see.

Uhmmm, maybe a tunable to set what color, transparency, and so on.

No ICONS would ruin the game for me.  I am pastel color-blind and anything against a green background disappears.  

As it is, I can only sometimes make out a target when looking down, even if the target is 100 ft away.

Heck, gimme an option to make the ICON a 70's disco ball, then I will be happy  .

I know this is my limitation, and I live with it.  It keeps me from flying fighters as I can never see anything below me.  So, I stick in buffs and goons, and have a blast.

Now, once we get a navy,.....lookout!  That beautiful blue color will be the doom of many of my opponents,......I hope  .
