I'd like an option to remove the frontal bullet proof glass from the 38G..., in trade for less protection.

Seems like the glass was added as an after thought, its inside the cockpit as apposed to being an integral part of the structure.

Umm, guys... you seem to be acting pretty rude.
Perhaps you could cut out the insults?

There is alot to be said for a real life pilots ability to move his head freely and deal with most obstructions inside a cockpit, (the 109 comes to mind) but within the confines of this game, it makes the 38G a whole lot less viable as a dogfighter.

But yeah, this glass is a severe obstruction in the game, and I doubt it was so in real life...

The padding on top seems to sit in line with the support structure, thus providing little abstruction to the upper field of view in your photo.
Not so in-game, that pad hangs well below it.

And I HAVE changed my views...etc, etc. lol

The cockpit needs a redesign perhaps................, the armor was set farther forward, and didnt hang so low, and obviously it was a modifacation made to the early 38's in production, as most other early war fighters incorperate the glass "into" the cockpit, and not inside of it. (P-40, F4f, etc.)

I wouldnt be the least bit surprised to learn that if indeed the glass obstructed the view THAT much,  it was somtimes removed..., but I doubt it was that much of a headache, so I also have my doubts about its placment in the game, thus I beleieve it might need a second look.

That's Richard Bong, the USAF leading ace from WW2.  The glass in the G seems like a pain when you first start flying it.  But I used to fly it a good deal and after awhile you get used to it and it just sort of disappears, at least that was my experience.  The cockpit framing the J actually bothers me more than the G in a lot of ways, I lose opponents behind the frames around the front of the cockpit all the time.

I fly the 38G almost exclusively.  I don't notice the armor glass.  It wasn't something that was taken off on real fighter 38s.  Just get used to it

And remember that the big time 38 aces all got the majority of their kills in the early model 38s with the internal armor glass.  Use it as your inspiration
