Been fun except for Tuesdays. My computer is acting up because of a chip fan out. I'll be taking that one offline and putting another on this weekend probably. The stutters are about to drive me truely crazy. lol

He wouldn't salute me though and from the time the fight lasted he must have been a much better pilot than me. ... I asked him if he wasnt happy but no reply. I suppose he thought I should have fought in close but that is ust not the spit 14 way surely:frown:

Probably got ignored because you were flying a spit.

Spit 14 is a spit in name only ;) :D

I think he didnt salute cos I hOed him early in the fight which iregreted though did no damage. I hoed him because I though he was Hoing me which was still foolish as I should have pulled right.

Anyway it came down in the end to he stalled it a couple of times and the second I dont think he recoverd in time to avoid a beam on atack and I think he sulked becuase he was being repeatedly bounced and I wouldnt turn with him. Why should I turn fight in an unstable plane with a monster climb rate. He twice avoided the dive and followed me up and lost control is how I saw it. Probably the film will come on and show how deluded I am though but to me it looked like a fare fight.

No, I'm serious.. you were probably ignored because you were flying a spit.

I ignore spit and LA-7 drivers. I'm sure I'm not alone.

The way it reads to an experienced player: you HO'd the first plane you met.

Dont get mad, or be embarrased.  Just accept it for the truth that it is.

No.  Actually I spotted the guy and was fumbling around looking for a key on my keyboard and when I couldn't hit it I looked down for a second and as I looked back up the guy was HOing me.  I tried to evade but by then it was already too late.

I didn't have any intent to HO and was surprised the guy was actually flying straight at my 30mm.

Nothing solely.

Been toying with the P39 lately.. having fun with that.

Mostly heavy bombers.

Val or TBM when I'm feeling onery.

SBD is fun..

IL2

F4U and P47 when I need some American iron fix.

P38, of course..

And a whole lot of 5".

I pretty much ONLY fly a spit when the squad takes them.. and, even then, I'm starting to balk at that.  Same with LA-7.

<edit>  Oh, yeah.. and when I'm in buff-hunting mood, I grab an FW.

Compare Seafire to A6M5 and Spit 9 to 109f4. Try flying the Spit 14.

My point is the 16 is probably La7 easy to get kills in but not the other 3 above I fly or even the Spit 8.

If someone gives a good fight I'll salute them. It is just rare to get a good fight from spit pilots. I think it stems from the fact that so many new folks fly them.

People have strange prejudices I judge someone by how they fly not what. But if I get a good slow and low fight from a 47 I am more likely to salute that one than a zero.

Perhaps with the exception of the 16 people overestimate spits. I think the pilot I beat in the f6 was never going to let me beat him in his mind because I was in a spit. It particularly exposes the prejudice in that I was in a 14  ;)

I would think an F6 no match for a 14 so he had nothing to prove.

Never say never.. but almost every encounter I've had with them wasn't a salutable encounter.

Normally, my response would be 'which of the 5 spits were you?'
