Just curious since we use the same stick: have you ever had any problems with a loose center?

I need to have a slight dead zone because both my Twist axis and my X axis are a bit loose near the center. Still love the stick, but it could just be that much better without this problem.

I have the gameport version only (has to be built to allow that USB adapter, and mine wasn't -- first generation), so I may not have the same issue. I had to scale it properly to get comfortable with it, and I disabled the twist (not the best, probably weakest part of the stick) once I got some rudder pedals.

Do you actually plug it into a gameport to use it? Of course that assumes you're still using it.

Sounds like my problem is just that I abused the stick over the course of 10 years. The twist is where the loose center is most annoying. Hard to have precision rudder control that way. Obviously if I got pedals, this would no longer be an issue. Aileron precision is not so much an issue.

Yes, I do. It won't work with the USB adapter. This is literally the first generation of MS Prec Pro Sidewinder, with the round dome throttle instead of the lever.

In my second gameport (one on mobo, one on sound card) I have my old CH pedals (non USB, non-"PRO"), and plugged into USB I have the throttle. Eventually I want to move away from gameport totally, but that's not going to happen soon.

I've got a Cyborg Evo laying around here. Could use a bit of cleaning up (mostly, the angle adjustment knobs seem to "rust"), but other than that is in fine condition. I'd be willing to part with it if you cover the shipping charges.
I have a Wireless one too, but it's rather irritating to have your stick start cutting out when the single AA is dying.

I would still use one of my three CH Flightstick gameport models.  The one with only two buttons.  But my gameport to USB converter doesn't seem to keep pace with the OS any more.  :(

Hook this simple stick up with some home made pedals, and look out!~

Back to topic:

I have the ST290 pro. As I am a beginner and n00b, this stick is fine with me. It doesn´t cost that much and is good quality.

I went through four Logitech 3D pros.  Constantly spiking, and overall cheep.  Had one that lasted a year, the rest made about 4-5 months. Now I use a X52Pro.  Had it about a year now and absolutely love it.   :joystick:

Don't you find the size of it makes quick movements somewhat awkward? It affects my precision and makes snap shots in intense dog fights hard to nail.
