Not sure if its a bug or feature but if you lose a gear and land hard on the r/w there is a good chance you will explode before you can exit.
(EDIT:) I meant you used to be able to survive but this first time it happened since the last version release my plane exploded suddenly after coming to a rest and after shearing the wing on first contact with the r/w.
