"Now that we got the boy out of the way, we can clearly see from the 2 hours of filming that my balloon is more than capable of carrying data equiptment into the heart of a storm."

Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

I'm leaning toward this being an attention hoaring hoax.  I watched some of their live
interview on CNN last night and in no time at all it was clear as day that the family as
whole are very odd and strange. In other words they are absolutely wacked.  Odd
that the father did all the talking too. Either the kids could not due to dad saying he'd
beat the snot out of them if they did or they're incapable of answering because a
complete lack of social skills (or IQ) .

So. Got up, made breakfast and turned on the tv this am. What do I see? More live
interviews with them! I'm pretty sure this was for the attention.

Like Westy said, this guy and his family are simply crazy. This is some weird hoax they must have created for attention.

Live onCNN:
Dad, "Why didn't you come out"
Kid, "You guys said... we did this for the show"

Supposed home video of the balloon being released:
Dad is a bad actor too.

Anyone else here what happens at the 44 second mark in that video...hehe.

Hmm...attention starved? Oh, yeah. This is the same guy that was on wife swap...twice.

As soon as the boy was found unharmed i thought it was a load of bollocks even before the foul up on CNN, as did grizz before me and others in the original thread. Clearly the are not crazy but they are essentialy media prostitutes and have cost alot of money to someone.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

Actually they were already in one. The wife swapping one.

Imagine how many rescuers lives they put in jeopardy with their fame game? I hope they end up in prison.

You beat me to it. This was a hoax to get attention. They should be rewarded with starring roles in a new reality show "Lockup 24/7".

They were on a reality show awhile back.. trading spouses, maybe they miss the limelight, know one will ever know, at least not yet.. As far as watching that video of it lifting off, now that looked alittle phony, they way it was moving it just looked empty to me, if there was the boy inside the basket it would not of been moving like it was empty.
