Oct 23 Off FSO Jeep Races

The planning team has come up with two seperate style races for the evening.  The first one will be every player against each other.  The second race will be divided into two teams involving relay racing.

The map for the races will be the MMESA map.  We'll start one hour earlier than the normal time for FSO (10 PM EST/ 9 PM CST).  This will give us an extra hour for the two events.

The first event will be utilizing C-47's with ten troops.  The race is to capture as many bases as possible against the other players.  The starting point will be A1 airfield.  All other bases will be set up from two different countries to allow capture.  Each base will have all field ack and town building down.  Players will takeoff from A1 and begin releasing troops either in the air or on the ground for capture. 

Sounds easy.

This will be a one aircraft event.  Which means players will have to fly back to a friendly airfield to land and taxi to the re-arm pads to get more troops.  Then taxi to runway and takeoff to head to another base.  This will require players to be extra careful to not damage the goon.

If 30 players start the event with 100 bases or so to capture, then the event will be around 30 to 45 minutes.  It will go quick unleass players break thier rides.  Rough guess will be the player to win with 4 base captures.  Then again maybe someone will have 7 base captures. 

A little different type of race but will be fun watching 5 players drop thier troops in the air hoping to get the 10th troop into the maproom.  Best approach will be landing the goon and releasing troops.


The second event will be a runway relay race with the jeeps.  Players will divide into 2 teams.  Forming two seperate lines at the end of one runway, the first two players will race to the end of the runway.  Then they will turn 180 degress and race back to thier teammates.  When they pass the teammates, the next teammates will start thier race.

This will a best of 5 relay races to determine winner.


After the relays, if thier is still time then maybe something else to do on the fly or more relay races.

Remember, one hour earlier than normal FSO.

IMPORTANT UPDATE :  For the C-47 race, once all the players have lifted off from A1.  The CM's will be closing the airfields.  Make sure you don't damage your goon.

Players can land at any friendly airfield to re-arm.  Friendly collisions will be turned OFF.

Another update for all.  The map has only 60 bases total.  With one friendly at the start then that leaves 59 for grabs.

UPDATE:  CM Marshal informed me that in order to prevent the map from resetting during the C-47 race.  He'll take a couple of bases that have been captured and switch them to enemy bases that are uncapturable.  the players that originally had made those captures will not lose the capture.  This is just to prevent map reset.  The bases will be in the rear with the gear.

All players will be on the same country.  When a player captures a base that's it for that one.  Players will have to move on to the next one of their choice.  4 players might drop their troops over the same maproom.  The player who's troop is the 10th one in gets the capture.  One capture per base 59 in total. 

Marshal will take two of the early captured bases and turn them into the other country bases to stop a map reset.  These two bases will be uncapturable.

Marshal will have a Vehicle Hangar opened up in a rear airfield for players that break their goons and players entering the arena after the goon race starts.  This will be for players to have fun with until the jeep relay races start.  He'll open this up after a short time once the goon race begins.
