It needs patching.
Right now there's a hit detection bug in that you can shoot someone, see the (really crappy) blood spray and yet he'll be fine.
And while we're on the subject of the crappy blood spray effect, it's stupid. You can shoot at someone from 150m away, score a hit and yet the enemy won't move in the slightest. From this range the blood spray effect is bigger than the enemy figure. Someone said this game has rag doll physics? My arse it does.
The original (and Arma & Arma2) made a big deal out of free form gaming, that you could go anywhere and do anything. OFP2 makes the same claim but I've yet to see it implemented well, can't really explain why but Arma2 just does the free form thing better, OFP2 feels blinkered even though the entire island may be available to travel around in every mission. And I really hate not being able to view my inventory and pick and choose my weapon loadout.
Oh and the views suck. And I really, really, really hate how the enemy can apparently see through the bushes they're laying in but if I go prone anywhere at all I can't see more than 3ft around me in any direction.
So far this game is not a hit with me but I'll stick at it and see if it gets any better.
