The DUKW was not a true troop transport made for beach assaults like the LVT's were designed.  The DUKW was made more for ship to shore movement of supplies and men after the beach was secured.  However, it could work the same as the LVT for supplying by ship to shore.  But I don't know if it would have any other benefit other than a little faster once on land.

Well hay-ul,

If the strat system is going to change, let's get bridges that matter, and glider troops to deal with 'em.

Ho yeah, you heard me: glider troops. Gotta have them gliders to transport the demo charges.

Can't use current game to tow? Coad baby, coad!

... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

I'd have a better chance in running into a Dodo Bird in the middle of rush hour, walking down the I-5 with two hookers in tow before I see a useful post from glock89- Ack-Ack

LVT owns them all.
As for aircraft, I'd vote for the Curtiss Commando. It's basically a goon on steroids  :t
Twice the troops, more power. By the way, that is 50 troops, the goon took 28.

Another option would be the Messerchmitt Giant

130 troops, or 12 tonne payload, oh, and 17 defensive guns. But it's sloooooow.

Or even the Horsa Glider.

Now this can be towed by various aircraft, down to even the goon, but was fequently towed by bombers. Carries about 3.5 tonnes, which would be 25 troops, and I also heard they carried GP's in them. The Gigant of course, also carried vehicles.
A good angle on the Horsa in AH would being towed with a heavy bomber that also has some payload  :t
It would land on very small patches due to its special flaps.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Then of course a tank-carrying glider. The Hamilcar:

It would carry this one for example:

37mm gun and 40 mph.
Or this one:

It's ugly, but the gun is 40mm.
Both weight about the same as the M8 though, and the m8 is much faster...
The Gigant would of course also carry tanks...
