Work computer keeps showing a block for an IP address

Not sure if this is the same sort of problem, but I found that my work IP was blocked by the hosting company of my personal website.

I contacted my website's support area and was informed that it had been blocked due to too many attempts to log into admin mode. ( probably one of my 'What the heck is that password again' episodes )

Anyway, they un-blocked my work's IP and everything is fine now.

Its funny though since it only shows up on my work system that was provided by the company I work for but I never get anything on the home system showing up as an attempted/possible intrusion.

That has something to do with the local network, I think. 10.xxx.xxx.xxx is the equivalent of 192.168.xxx.xxx on Linux routers for some other manufacturer, as I've heard.

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has directed the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) to reserve the following IPv4 address ranges for private networks, as published in RFC 1918:

As others have stated this is private IP address. My previous employer used the 10.3.3.X internal network for our Dalton, GA location, 10.2.2.X for Chicago, 10.1.1.X for Minneapolis, 10.0.0.X for Milwaukee.

Anything starting with 10.X.X.X is private. I use a variant here @ home.

This address is local to the network you are on, and I am betting your work PC would have an IP of 10.1.X.X if you did an ipconfig. How the block is manifesting itself is a quandary, possibly an infected PC on the network, and I have seen situations where an internal web site gets flagged for various reasons... Basically you can rule out anything outside of your companies network.
