The last mission there is an M-1.  But when I played it COOP with a buddy, we had to jump out quick because on the way to the Harbor Base there is a PLA tank watching the road.  We didn't see it, so we had to bail out.

Otherwise, I've played around with the Mission Editor quite a bit and there u can do whatever you want.  I've created maps with two sides and every playable vehicle in the spawn areas for players to drive/fly.  Kind of run to goof around.  When creating custom maps, you have to send the file to the person you want to play with.  The game is too new for any real tutorials (outside of the mission editor help which sucks).  Through trial and error I've figured out the basics of maps missions.

Everything I had seen was for PC.  You're playing this on an XBOX?  That might be pretty cool.

That's what I heard... that and it wasn't out in the US yet.  Guess I'm a bit behind... lol.  I'll have to check it out, I was a huge OFP fan back in the day (when it used to work on my PC).  I particularly remember those 200+ yard away opfors shooting you in the head through two forests and the way the game was setup so that you always were better off sneaking into a town rather than charge into it like rambo.  I was a member of a little group called STO back in the original OFP for the PC, and was also active in the map editing for the game.  I remember the original OFP was fantastic in that it was one of the first multiplayer PC games setup for the online community to keep it alive after it was released by allowing the community (and giving it some awesome tools) for making addons and editing maps.  I was always surprised by how many ideas I came up with and could get to actualy work out the way I wanted them to through the post-release editing and scripting.

I guess I'll have to pickup a copy... now, should it be for the PC or my XBox... hmmm.

The game does not look as good as the above rendered shot makes it seem to look like in game.

Obviously, the graphics are better on the PC if you have a system that can run it with the graphics turned up and looks good but nowhere near the supposed in game screenshots that have been posted on the Intardnet.  However, the controls is firmly console centric since the PC version is really nothing more than a console port.  It boils down to personal preference...if you want better looking graphics and by chance have an Xbox 360 controller for your PC, the PC is version to get, otherwise get the Xbox 360 version.  One small note, you probably can get it for less on the PC (usually between $39 - $49) where as the console versions are all $59 (all console games are $10 - $20 more expensive than PC games).  You can go to online stores like GoGamer and find it for less, think it's on sale for $35 on the PC.

Ditto, Granted I'm on XP and limited to DX9, but the main difference I can see right away is the smoke.  Unless DX10 smoke is vastly different. it's pretty weak.  I've seen smoke on plenty of DX9 setups that looks much more fluid than what is represented in the game.

That's how it looks on the 360. The joy of co-op when u have to actually endure guys talking like him  :cry

On the Xbox, push the inventory menu button quickly and u'll cycle between primary/secondary/grenade. The med patch is not bad either to get, call inventory menu and go 1 up, it'll bring u right to it as it's brings u to the bottom item. I do like more realistic weapon change, video games always makes what u call out magically appear in your hand. It takes what seems like ages to properly store ur machinegun back on your back, and pull out a hangun. In COD it seems like u throw ur machine gun on the ground while your side arms falls from your sleeve.

Also I notice the AI doesn't see thru smoke or bushes, but they sure as death&taxes know how to lay down suppressive fire thru it.

My main gripes with the game is how hard eni is to spot in forest/bush area (but that's pretty much true to RL), and that they don't randomly spawn on the map, u find them at the same houses/places before u start a gunfight.

I do love the tactical freedom due to the free roaming, and the many hours I spent exploring/cleansing the map klicks away from the main objective. As afr as online goes, play it with your friends only. Not like COD where u jump in teamdeathmatch and find fun.

Thanks for the feedback on OFP2,  sounds like I'll be giving that one a pass and sticking to ARMA 2.  I don't own a Xbox, PS3, etc. and do all my gaming on the PC.  What's more straight console ports drive me nuts. :)

Now if they could hurry up and get the A.C.E. 2 mod for ARMA2 out I'd be a happy camper. :)
