Here's a link with some color schemes for skinners.

Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

True.

Of those I'm not sure any are completely faithful in terms of materials though. And even if there are some that are faithful and have original engines, doesn't do anything for the rest of the plane that will be modeled.

As far as I know this is a table based game so it will be a matter of the developers decided what plane goes what speed at what alt.

 :headscratch:

I don't believe it's table based.  Fortunately there's more to the AH flight model than speed at a given altitude.

Rigging a WW1 aircraft was an art. Performance wouldn't be as consistent for the same types as modern aircraft. I think it's likely that a good replica could be in the range of actual performance.

Lets see it on a D7... And yes, I have plenty of money!

But need to hear a ruling from HTC as weather private "one off" skins will be allowed..

And would need a method to make sure my "one off, privat" skin doesn't start
popping up everywhere, before I send any cash!!!

Ok first of all there is no way I am going to take your or anyone else's money to make a skin.  It was a joke.

Second unless a skin is approved by HTC no one can use it online.  And they are only going to allow historical skins.

Third unless the OTHER people have it, there is no way they can see what you are flying, thereby defeating the coolness factor of having your own skin.

Thx Fencer, thats very cool man!!!   Lots of snide wiseacres around here!!!
If you didn't mean it that way, my apologies...

I was serious about payin for it tho!!!  To HTC if they would allow it for a fee?

But what I was wondering is, hitech, is it possible for single skins to be reserved for a single players use?

Historically accurate? It is!!!  WWI german pilots had their own distinctive paint schemes within their unit...
Wild ones too!!!   Flying circus, ya know!!!

When ya pull up skin selections, some skins would say reserved by so and so (only ONE), so ya cant have that particular skin, Select another!   In a way, skins would be a players/planes mugshot book!!!

I'd gladly pay a fee for that, Mo Money for the company!

Wasn't there some sort of cap on how many skins each plane is allowed to have? Is that still in force? I'm taking it theres a good reason for that? Does anyone know?

15, IIRC. Count how many P-51 skins there are...there's your answer. :p

Love the pic basis for the 'Seven Schwabians' Fokker D.VII skin, WMaker. Nice one.

Some info. The 'Brisfit' pic at the head of this string is of a post-WW1 Mk.IV practising a message-bag pick-up. It's serving with a Auxiliary Air Force unit.

The Bristol F2B Fighter was known as the 'Biff' or plain 'Fighter' in WW1; the nickname 'Brisfit' (short for 'Bristol Misfit') was applied to the gallant old warhorse sometime in the 1920s, when it was the RAF's standard Army Co-operation aircraft.

:salute to the best two-seater of the Great War - and for some time afterwards.

"This guy says it all lol  joystick. HIS JOYSTICK DON'T WORK!!!!! ARGG.."

That's the "over 50" emoticon ;)

Speaking of joysticks. It just dawned on me that the most basic of setups can
be used by anyone for this era.   No need for setting buttons for secondary guns,
flaps, trim, wep, brakes, retracting gear or toggling ordinance.

Engine, guns, views x/y axis control and go!  A hoopty-twist stick like the CH 3D
Pro or MS Sidewinder, heck even a mouse, can be used.
