Run DXDIAG and look under the "Input" tab.  Once you expand the USB devices section it should show the X52 and various bits of information about it.

If it shows there, is should just work in the game.  If it does not show there, then move to another USB port.

By any chance did you disable the HID service?

You read that improperly. Niel probably started talking about something entirely different (like "just buy a CH stick" or something), so Skuzzy came a long, blanked his post, and replaced it with a note for him to see Rule #2 as to why his post was deleted. You're doing just fine. :)

Raptor as Skuzzy says you should see the saitek stuff in Device manager > Human interface Devices

To find what Tilt is referring to (and honestly I don't know why he brought it up...none of that makes sense to me) go to Control Panel(classic view)>Game Controllers. A small window will pop up with the X52 listed. Press the Properties button.

Raptor the reason I leave this (Game controllers> Saitek x52 >Properties )running when playing AH is that its clear to me that AH see all the stick properties better when it is running in the back ground.

I leave all the Siatek controller ware switched off.

Every single button and switch gets a dx # within AH (that AH can recognise) which is not the case if Game controllers> Saitek x52 >Properties are switched off.

I had lots of problems with the installed software that came with my x52.  I removed it and let windows decide which drivers were best.  havent had a problem since then and that was 3 months ago.

Are you running it thru a powered USB Hub?

A lot of my issues cleared up when I went into Saitek control panel and in the LEDs tab I turned the brightness all the way up. Apparently that is also a power setting cause my mouse jump issue went away completely. So did my axis jumping.
