Best Bomb Run?

May have had mine today. Now I am not a bomber per say. I just do what I believe necessary, usually strats. Today, the knits had port 172. All I really wanted to do was get some fighter action. However, 173 was in jeopardy. So I upped a set of B24s with 1,000 pounders. I prefer the 17s for strating. They just seem more accurate. My goal necessitated more ordinance. I wanted to take down the troops, radar, vh and just maybe put a couple eggs on the cv. I had to lift nearly 3 sectors away, climb around a large hill. Once I got it going in the right direction. I ran to the store, fixed lunch, and cleaned up a little. When I returned my buffs were still more than a sector out.


At that point I saw a friendly heading there. I figure he would go for the VH. (no, I don't know why. I just thought that). I was at 17k when I started my turn towards base. the sky was empty of cons. Let my first 3 eggs out and blam, got all the troops, manned ack, and radar. Then I noticed the impact marks where the friendly had just missed the vh.

Much to my surprise, right in front of me is the cv and it is turning and squirming. Now I'm fairly good if the cv holds still. I always wonder how those folks hit them when they are turning. At that point I still needed to kill the vh and decided to drop 3 sets of eggs on the cv and save 2 for the vh. So I take my best guess from 17k and drop with much less lead than if the cv was going straight and a bit to the left since the cv was turning. Boom, Boom, Boom. All 3 sets of eggs hit. I couldn't count the number of objects I hit. It was more than a page. The cv didn't go down but was really soft. I didn't expect it to.

Then I turn my attention to the port's vh and slowly turn towards it. After finishing my turn, right in front of me was the cv. I only had 2 sets of eggs left. I need two sets to kill vh. Did the friendly do enough damage?! I took the chance and dropped another set on the cv. Another hit (not so surprising this time. It was going straight). It didn't go down. Was hoping but no. I then lined up for the vh and fortunately my one set of eggs finished it.

Ended up with over 12 perkies. Pretty good for just a bomb run with no kills in mho.

Rewind back to 2002.   In the game about 6 months.   I log on and fellow Squaddies in Nazgul are trying to find a CV.   I roll a heavy F6F and I find it.   I dive and drop all ordnance.   Seconds prior to the ord hitting, a Knight Mission rolls.   I hit the CV and get 27 Kills.   Puff ack got me and I crashed.   The whines eliminated my kills buffer just as fast.   

Lost the SS back in 2005 when my PC was on the fritz.

12k, I only know the first 3 salvos were solid. The last one got a soft gun.

After repeated waves of LW attacks on the bombers,


We slugged our way through to hit the target.


It was a blast.

A couple months ago we bish lead by Av8or went on a nit hq demolition mission in b24's.

We were a sector away when they intercepted us with 163's.

It was a slaughterfest. There were 110's, 163's, 51's, 262's and many other assorted fighters. I took out a 110, a 163 and a couple 51's before diving to about 8k to get away. I had an engine blown out and i was behind and below the main pack. I took out another 51 and i took out a tyffie right before i reached the hq. I saw everybody's bombs miss the target and hit the town. It was a failure.

I made it to the hq with my bombers and i set it to salvo 10.

I dropped my bombs and all but 2 bombs hit the hq directly.

I ran for base but got killed by the puffy ack of cv when i was afk returning to base.(i was 2k over the water.)

I got about 20 perkies.

The leader, Av8or got 68 perkies for downing 15 planes before getting killed. 

It was a great mission.

My best bomb run..

Bish where hitting a field of ours. From the tower i could see 2 CVs. I went to a base 2 sectors away and upped a Lanc form with 14 1ks.
After i got to bomb alt of 11k. i started my approach. To my surprise it wasnt 2 CVs it was 4!  All 4 where lined up fairly nose to tail. As I
started the run i set salvo to 3, to drop 9k each CV, only had to adjust course slight for each CV. result 4 CVs sunk in 30 secs lol.

best perk buff run. Ju88s i sank CV n Cruiser in a MW arena, perk mod was 40x got 4000 perks, i was lone knit with 20 rook n 20 bish.
after that HT limited the perk mod hehe.

Not to long ago, i climbed to 30k in 17's hit a city and like 10 people upped to kill me, i shot down about 5 before i died.

Errrrr.....I got bored one day and went town killing in a mostly deserted arena with some lancs....the person I was flying with and I both got about 40 perkies...

I've had several sorties over 40 perks in the past mostly milk runs to strats.
Its not hard to get up into the mid 30's at all.
Ju-88's are very good for farming perks.

Think my best all time perk sortie run was in an lvt2 hauling troops.

Got 5 kills then the capture for almost 50 perks.

What I couldn't believe about my run was not so much the perkies but the fact I nailed a turning ship from so high.
