Cool web page and group http://www.p38assn.org/index.htm I found.

There is something about P-38s that make aircraft Buffs get all compulsive.

Wonderful airplane. Wonderful storys behind them. Heres one. http://www.p38assn.org/videohistory.htm

Actually my first response to seeing the thread title was "Not this s#!t again."

Why, because the P-38 get pushed and hyped so much on this forum that there is a serious amount of overexposure.

+3, over the whole S.A.P.P. thing in general.

As an example, on this thread talking about terminal velocity on bombs....

The velocity of my 38 only becomes terminal at the point of auger.

It is one of the first things you learn upon entering S.A.P.P.

The second being to save the blender.

Thread hijacks, self propagation, useless banter.... the jokes are thin already.  I respect all of the guys in SAPP, but enough already. Get a new inside joke, or ... make your own bbs somewhere. Enough already.

i haven't figured that out in the "G" as yet. i mostly fly the "J", unless eny kicks in.

she takes a little more finesse though, than the little wiggly airplanes.  :aok

the first time i tried to turn my 38 o doom as hard and suddenly as i could in a spit or zeek.......i was still trying to recover the spin when i hit the cartoon ground.

o yea.....the ground is overmodeled, and i DEMAND it be fixed!!!!   :noid :neener: :aok

I find myself leaning in karnak's favor.  SAPP and P38s are fantastic, don't get me wrong... I mean look at what squad I associate with :D.  However there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.  Jokes should be subtle and witty, not just blasted all over the place at any opportunity.

Then you have those that when you thump their head.... you get a hollow sound or even an echo. If you have no humor your in for a rough ride. :)
