Don't know of a labtop that can play Aces Height. Come to think of it, never heard of Aces Height.

lol Spikes.  I played on a laptop for many months.  Any new laptop shouldn't have any problem.  As long as it meets the minimum requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Operating System:       2000/XP/
CPU:                               1.8GHz Celeron
System RAM/Memory:       512MB
Video Card:               DirectX 9 compatible
                                   with 64MB of RAM2
Input Devices               Keyboard and Mouse
Internet Connection       Modem dial-up

I ran mine off wireless for many months without any problems but did switch to hard line when I was getting discoed.

"Any new laptop shouldn't have any problem."

That's totally wrong, I'm afraid.
Especially now with the so called netbooks, which have exploded in popularity.
Also, today AH is getting a bit more demanding on the HW than it used to be.

To be a bit more helpful to the OP:

Look for laptops that come with proper integrated 3D graphics from nvidia or ATI (NOT Intel!!!).
My Vaio, for example, has the GeForce 7400 and runs AH reasonably well, apart from not being able to have any AA (anti aliasing, the processing that removes jaggies). If you can live with a rougher image with jaggies then 7400 etc will be fine. Otherwise look for a higher end chipset.

Note: Typically with nvidia chipsets from different generations that sits in the same performance bracket have the same last 3 digits:

6400
7400
8400

would give roughly the same level of image quality. (AA is costly in terms of computing power)

Something like

6600
7600

would allow much nicer image quality (I haven't confirmed this for notebooks however). 8600 is an exception that I've been told is underpowered. To complicate matters further the GPUs used in laptops are not the same as those used in discrete cards.

If you tell us your budget maybe we'll be able to help with some suggestions.

I'm a poor student and I'm getting a labtop (sic) {for gaming}

The problem is that "poor" and "gaming laptop" are diametrically opposed.  Airhog99 said it best:

If you can find one in your price range, then what I'd do is look for benchmarks of whatever the integrated video is compared to a desktop video card on 3DMark06 (here's one site that might help http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html caveat emptor of course!!!)

Don't ignore CPU, but generally, you are going to be far more limited by the graphics capabilities - and I'd think that anything that had a decent graphics card would be highly likely to have a decent CPU, too.

I do think you'll be hard pressed to find something that's "reasonable" compared to a non-gaming capable laptop that will do everything else you'd want to do, however.

While I'm no expert on the subject, look for a laptop that has an independent graphics card, at least 4 gigs of memory and Windows 7. At that point you'll probably be looking at a cost of $800 - $1,000 + If you're not married to the need for mobile computing, consider a home built desktop, which will cost you several hundred $$ less.

There's also the option of a lower end laptop which will run AHII with minimal eye candy.

When you're close to a decision, come back and post the specs.

AH runs decently with a 2Ghz Core 2 duo, 4Gb RAM, and a Radeon 3650. Thats the one I bought a year ago for 700 euros (Acer 5920, it exists in both ATI and nvidia). If you experience warping, deactivate the Intel speedstep feature when playing.
