Claim Jumpers - The tales of heroism
« on: October 25, 2009, 06:08:07 AM »
Recently I B6Pacman and the late night crew of the CJs have been causing mayhem in conducting NOE HQ runs in lancs.

If you think 110s are cool enough you have not seen a CJ lanc run.

Well anyway the most epic one was a few nights back. The CJs were running an NOE ..... and then it went Haywire. Bankie0 went one way around a mountain and myself and blades went round another. Then we come to a hill...... a biiiiiiiiiig hill. One that we have to go around..... into a dar ring.

So we hit dar no one notices its all good, smoke and gryz are in ponies riding alongside and then all of a sudden . shock horror. THE KNIGHTS ARE COMING THE OTHER WAY, so we have two HQ runs converging on the same spot with a horde of bish defenders around.

Result.... CATASTROPHE. Bankie in a panic hits a hill, blades looses his drones, My mic quits and the fighters are heavy. We miss the HQ I see cannon shells everywhere I go down I jump into one of the ponies and see ALL HELL going on. Gryz gets decapitated and smoke gets blown to pieces.

Was I upset at the faliure

hell no, WAS AWESOME

anyway anecdote over   :airplane:

Nothing wrong with NOE's. See my post "And then the fight started."

One of the funnest fights I ever had was when I was in a Bish NOE and we ran into a Rook NOE.  Both were huge! The knits had to be thinking, where did all the rooks and bish go.

If a country wants to run NOE's please do. Many many pilots look forward to busting them. It can be a very effective base grabbing method but it can be busted quite easily at times too. The absolute best way to ruin your fun is to try to control the arena and the pilots playing.

CJ's I'm glad you had fun, to me that is all that matters.

yawn

The object of NOE is to get to a base or target and do your deed before the enemy can defend.

If you want to start a fight, post on 200 your intentions then follow through in dar alts.

One of the most entertaining NOE fights I ever had was when a flight of B-24s attempted to intercept my B-17s - ended up like something out of Master and Commander as we exchanged broadsides and we lost a drone apiece before disengaging. Marvellous!

As long as capturing bases and winning the war remains about the only goal, why would there be complaints when a squad tries to do that?

Take it up with HTC if you want a different kind of objective.
