I won't give the answer as this is a rather easy one to ID. However, you will find that this fighter was the primary foe of the Flying Tigers in China and Burma in early 1942. These fighters were gradually replaced in service by the Ki-43, Ki-44 and Ki-61. Generally, by 1943 they were largely used as advanced trainers. Armed with only two rifle caliber MGs, they were not especially effective, although extremely maneuverable.
Top speed is in the area of 285 mph.

My regards,

Ki-27 Osu 'Nate'

They were used quite effectively against the Soviets/Chinese in Manchuria during the Mid-late '30s.
