P47N camo to expect?
« on: February 02, 2001, 10:51:00 PM »
As you guys know, anything touching a P47 in AH gots my attention. If I recall good, Pyro will bring the P47N before the M. I don't know when for neither of them and it's not my concern.

I don't know much about the N, and I was wondering which type of camo we could expect. Did it serve in ETO, PTO?

I got a camo that I like (appart my all time favorite gabby's )

I was wondering first if it was a "N", then what group he was fighting for.

If you guys have some "N" camo, could you post them, so I can see what we can expect?

thx in advance

Dat jugs bro.

Gorf picked a good one (along with several other great jugs on his P-47 Wish Lish page.

P-47N-1 44-88211 "Lil Meaties' MEAT CHOPPER", flown by Lt. Oscar Perdomo, 464th FS, 507th FG, 12 AF from Ie Shima, August 1945.  He became an ace in one mission on August 13, when his flight of 38 P-47Ns encountered 50 Japanese planes over Seoul.  Perdomo was the last known ace of the war.

How's that for ya Frenchy?

Frenchy, that jug of yours SX*B looks like a D-25 of the 352FS, 353FG, 8AF AF.  Served in the ETO, I'm guessing August 1944.

So the N has the clipped wings, and the dorsal filet like the D30?

"meat chooper" is not bad. It's nice cause it has an idenfiable feature (all yellow tail) but I think there is too much silver on it. I was thinking of a more "rich" camo. I like the one I posted, but it's not a N (&^%$#@!).

You brought us a very colorfull clipped wing P47 from the 63FS the other day, but when Pyro will model a 56th P47, I would rather beg for Gabbriesky's one hehehe.

Yes, the N has clipped wings and a much more prominent dorsal fillet.

I don't think we should have an N or M with Gabby camo, just to have a Gabby camo plane.  But I do think the D-25 should be re-skinned to Gabby's paint job, since that's what model that plane was.  The Brazilian jug is great and all, but c'mon... "Gabreski."    'Nuff said.

Maybe HTC will provide various choices of camos in the future? (I'm dreaming, but doesn't hurt anybody)

A bunch of grown men saying they like each other's jugs really makes you frown

Hey Frenchy I hope you finally get that ugly fat plane of yours, someday I will get that pretty long legs lady of mine
