Teamspeak and X52
« on: October 27, 2009, 10:34:43 PM »
Hey Guys-

I've been using ventrilo for a while now and have been very happy but it seems that I will be switching to Teamspeak in the near future. I downloaded the program with no problems but am having some trouble getting it to recognize my X52 so I can set a "Push to Speak" button. I found a few threads open on this subject but they didnt really answer the question. Anyone have any ideas?

You need to use the keyboard and then map it to a button. That is the way I did it with CH stuff.

You map a PTT button in Ts, then map a button on the X52 to that button done in the LT software. You create a profile on the logitech profiler and call it AH then map your button to the same key as you mapped the PPT for TS. important-  Make sure and launch the game from the profiler , or the mapped button wont work ingame.

If you're using some sort of profile software for your stick then you can go through the standard "push to talk setup" and assign a specific key on your keyboard for the function...then using the stick profile software setup one of the buttons on your stick to emulate that key when pressed.

I never loaded the x52 profile software because I heard there were problems with it working with AH2. If I can get it to work with teamspeak I will have to download it. I cant believe I will have to run another program in the background just to get push to talk to work... With Ventrilo I just opened the settings and set the button I wanted and it was done.

thanks for your help guys and keep coming with the suggestions. The simpler the better  :pray

Unfortunately, Teamspeak does not recognize buttons on a joystick but that's about the only drawback. I've tried it with a couple of brands and no go. Not sure what's going to come about with Teamspeak 3 though...could be an improvement in that area.

The Saitek profiler software doesn't take a lot of resources...I'm using it for my Cyborg keyboard and Cyborg Xstick...haven't seen any conflicts with AH.

Good luck.

Here is another solution for mapping keyboard to joystick buttons.. JoystickCursor Control Tool (joycur)

Here are download link http://www.deinmeister.de/jct_e.htm

And here are manual page http://www.deinmeister.de/joycur_e.htm

I have mapped keyboard key (example F12)  in Teamspeak "Push to Speak" and then in Joycur I have mapped that key (F12) to one joystick button.
Just start Joycur first and after that your game and it should be working...
