Here is the system specs and pics I built for the Con.  Running on air the CPU temps under full load reach the mid 50's c.  Room temp in about 710f.  This is a very quite box.  Not sure if the investment ($105.00 about) in the "silent" fans were worth the decrease of about 6db noise.

Specs;
Case: NZXT Tempest (Custom Paint)
MB: EVGA X58 SLI
CPU: Intel i7 920 Stock @ 2.67GHz running @ 4.21GHz
HSF: Prolimatech Mega Shadow (Megahalem) Fan: Noiseblocker NB-Multiframe M12-P 120mmx25mm Ultra Silent PWM Fan
Mem: G.SKILL Perfect Storm 6GB
GPU: EVGA GTX 285
PSU: PC Power & Cooling 750watt
HD: Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB
HD2: Western Digital 1T for storage
Replacement fans Front and Rear 120mm: Cooler Master R4 Series 120x25mm Super Silent Fan - Blue LED
Replacement fans Top: Yate Loon 140mm x 25mm Blue LED

Did you paint that or is that an optional color for the Tempest?

Excellent paint job, I'd prefer a different shade of blue.

Curious about cpu and rear case fan directions...

In most setups, it seems like the cpu fan pushes case air through the heatsink and the rear case fan right behind the heatsink then sucks it out.  Any remaining heat goes up out top exhaust fans or if there is a psu up there, gets sucked through and out the psu.  But it looks like you have that reversed...?  Intake through the rear fan, then push through the cpu heatsink into the case?  Is the airflow good enough for that to not heat up the case?  I'd think you'd want that hot air exhausted as quickly as possible.  Of course, you probably get better cpu temps that way, so I guess it makes sense if cpu temps are a bigger concern than case, mobo, HD, or GPU temps.

very nice powder coating td, the top-front view definitely made me look twice.
thought it was a lian li armorsuit! excellent overclock too, for 24/7?  :D

The CPU fan is pulling air  across the heat sink (preferred method) then exhausting out the back.  One fan on the top is pushing one is pulling.  MB temps stay in the 30 ~ 40c.  If you look at the temps on the front, this case stays less then 30c.  There is a 120mm pushing air across the HDs and there is more then enough airflow within the case that it does not heat up hardly at all.  Fans are all on the controller keeping the fan speeds and temps and noise in check.  The temps seen in the front view is at idle. This case is very cool and quiet. Hence the nick name of the case "The Airflow King"

I don't feel so bad about my last build where I forgot to run the front panel audio wire behind the board, I see yours runs across the board too.  :uhoh

Nice paint job, but yeah, I would like to see a slightly darker Blue maybe.

Are those HDD bays removable? Makes my Antec 300 case look like crap, well it was a cheapo case.

Specs are great, cable management is also top notch.

the only thing I realized I knew about that readout on the front of the case was - the one on the bottom left is probably the date :)


enlighten me as to what all those readouts pertain to..

It sucks having an entirely dead-end computer. :noid Couldn't upgrade it if I wanted to, unless I bought everything except storage, case, and sound card.

That one makes me jealous. And has halfway reinspired me to organize my cabling. Someday when I'm bored.
