
Curtis SC-1 Seahawk . First flown 16 Feb 1944. 563 delivered, 284 canceled. First operational units were on the U.S.S. Guam.
It was designed for ease of production, and was convertable to a land based fixed gear mode.
The follow-up SC-2 had a 1,425 hp engine and a bubble canopy, a larger rudder, and other small mods, 10 completed, 240 canceled.
1,350 hp R-1820-62.
