I started drueling a little... If we ever get this (Plz plz plz!) make the turret slow, so it will hopefully balance out the carnage.

P.S. It is 2 40mm right? The wirble has 4 20mm. The way I see it, 40 x 2 = 80 and 20 x 4 = 80 So it would be the new wirble wind!

It would make a complete AAA set. Wirb for low fast moving targets with support of a 2x40mm wielding buff killer.... sounds fun.

According to my research (which could be wrong) these were the most produced vehicles in WWII.  I've listed those we already have in red.  The Crusader should definitely be in the game and the Bofors version would make for a nice addition to the M-16 as an allied mobile AA:

Vehicle  Country   Procuction years  # built
Jeep   USA   1941-1945   647925
M3 Personell Halftrack   USA      41000
T-34   USSR   1940-1944   34780

M4 Sherman   USA   1942-1945   33403
T-34-85   USSR   1944-1945   22559
M3A3 Stuart   USA   1941-1942   13859
SU-76   USSR   1942-1945   12671
M4 (76) Sherman   USA   1944-1945   10883
M5   USA   1941-1943   8851
StuG III F-G   Germany   1942-1945   8593
Valentine   Great Britan   1939-1945   8275
T-70   USSR   1942-1943   8226
Pz IV F2-J   Germany   1942-1945   7394
M10 GMC   USA   1942-1943   6706
T-60   USSR   1941-1942   6292
Panther   Germany   1943-1945   6132
Mk VI Crusader (A15)   Great Britan   1940-1943   5300
M3 Lee/Grant   USA   1941-1943   5258

These are all the GV's with producion of over 5000 and would give a nice balance across all eras of the war and thus, all the arenas.  I gave up on this project before I got to Japan so they aren't represented but I know there's at least a couple of Japanese GV's that should be added to this list.

Sorry... didn't mean to hijack the thread.  Oh... and I bolded those I'd most like to see personally.   :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40_mm_Bofors#Army

This sounds like the most practical variant to incorporate as a "GV":

I wish for the 90mmM2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/90_mm_M3_gun. It was pulled by a truck, so it would be mobile, and was used as and AT gun. If that won't work then I wish for the 90MM M1A1. I think 20 perks would be a reasonable price....

And this might be a nice alternative...

Perhaps towed by a jeep for a modest perk cost?

The quad mounts are exactly the same gun, yes. I haven't seen any twin mounts on the CV group myself...at least not mannable ones. The twins (if they're there) are probably 20mm mounts.

I'm a member of the Franklin NH Elks lodge, and have spoken to more than a few of the older Wapiti of their WW2 exploits.

One guy imparticular is relevent to this thread.

His name is Al Sprague (still a hell of a pool shooter!!)

He knew that I enjoyed listening to the WW2 stories that occasionally popped up in the club, so one day he related a story that he had forgotten until he recently re-discovered a letter he had received.

This is the letter.

I only see Al maybe a dozen times a year, I can't believe he even remembers me or my interest in WW2, let alone remembered to carry this letter around with him in his truck to show me the next time he saw me!!

The greatest generation, they will be sorely missed, :salute
