Im sure there were a whole bunch of notes sung at the end that dont show up anywhere on any sheet music.

I wish those performing the national anthem would just sing the song and not try so hard to be cutesy with it.

Same here. It's a national anthem; not Mariah Carey's Greatest Hits. Show some respect and hit the notes.  If you want to take artistic license, at least do it with pride. Jimi Hendrix's "Star Spangled Banner" is still the most awesome guitar version of the national anthem for one reason and one reason only: not because he was trying to be cool, but because he took a beautiful moment at Woodstock and captured it in music.

You can actually keep your high range if you use it throughout your voice change during puberty. I kept about half of mine from being in choir and that I enjoyed singing along with Little Richard. I'm now a Bass that can reach Alto and when very well warmed up, Soprano 2.
