Finally took one up last night and lost it.  Famous last words were "Hey, I think that La7 is coming right at me"  Heard 2 pings and was in tower.  Doh!

rofl. Great title! Well, lets see, which 262 are we speaking of? I've destroyed about 5 so far, and the perk points are getting pretty thin. Hearing a jet engine get shot out is like getting kicked in the balls just before sex.

I just want to say it wasnt me in the b17, seriously!

I have no hard luck 262 story my self, cant offord one.

Only 262 Ive lost, was due to a bug in AH.  For some reason occasionaly AH will just reset my fuel load out to 25% (and no its not the field not having fuel).

This happened last week and just as I aproached a flight of 6 B-17s my engins cutout.  I managed to glide safely home, but was not farmiliar enough with the plane to land dead stick, overshot the runway....

Lets see.....I've lost 3 in all.  Two to the dreaded "Host Connection Lost" abyss and one to the "damn but don't this 262 have potent guns, I just blew up a P51 with one burst...crash! flew into the debris and spiraled to the earth" death.

First two only cost 100 but the second was a full blown 200.

Yea, that is an incredible sinking feeling.  Same with going into the hangar and seeing that big, bad negative number.

Yup, turbines are fun, but pricey.

Well, there was the one I was flying 600mph inverted at 10 feet (and experienced redout), then there was the time I was strafing the cruiser in one, but I think if you want to get to the root cause it would have to be beer.

Ah man,..it will take me 2 years to get enough perkies to fly that,....then I gotta read this and it just makes me nervous thinking about losing it in 2 seconds.

Lost one to a collision.

Lost a second one after flying for an hour and a half dodging a few planes with a squadmate.

I'm flying home on one engine with a F4U and N1K2 behind me. I turn around, make a pass on F4U- he runs home. I turn around heading back to friendly territory in a nose high turn.. computer locks up hard.

Reboot.

400 points gone. Tell you what, I ain't flying that thing no more.
