Ping itself isn't a good way to determine if your connection to Aces High is decent. Aces High requires a steady connection, not necessarily a fast one. What you want to look at is ping time fluctuation and packet loss. The first can be roughly measured just by looking at the arena list. If it's hopping all over the place, your "connection" will suffer.
To get a more detailed look at both, you can use a program called PingPlotter. Have a look in
this thread for the server IPs and some general hints and tips. By using PingPlotter to test your connection to the MA server, you can get a good gauge of how well you're connected. Set it to do fast samples (one every second or more, if it lets you) and a high number of samples (say for fifteen minutes, or 900 samples in the case of one sample per second) and leave your computer be. It will generate a graph with many fancy lines and things that you can interpret or post here for someone to look at.
