well.. i didn't really know where to post this but i wanted to do it somewhere
i found out some pretty interesting history about my grandpa i never got to meet and about 2 of my uncles who i know very well(well.. i thought i knew them very well, but i NEVER knew this about them)
well i don't know the specific dates right now as i just learned about this today, but my grandfather(moms side) was in the army.. in one of the atom bomb tests the army had 4000 soldiers(2000 above ground, 2000 below ground) in bunkers to "test" the effects of the atom bomb. my grandpa was one of the 2000 in an above ground bunker.
after the bomb was tested.. they followed and observed the 4000 test subjects to see what effects the radiation had on them.. well, i don't know what happened to the other soldiers but.. my grandpa died at 42 years young "largely" of a rare type of leukemia cause from radiation. my mom and grandma say he also had about 14-15 other severe things wrong with him. including his hands deforming..
and on a much less depressing find.. apparently 2 of my uncles both served 3 tours in the korean war(1 was in the marines, one was in the navy). im goin to talk to both of them and find out as much as i can about they're experinces as im very interested in this sort of thing now.
