Late Night ENY
« on: November 11, 2009, 12:50:04 PM »
Was playing about 4:30 to 5:30 Eastern Time Monday in the Blue MA, we had 32 knights on, about 27 Bish and 20 something rooks. The ENY was 27, and that's a little ridiculous. Can we get rid of the ENY after a certain time or when the numbers in the MA reach a certain point? We're talking about a difference of maybe five players, and we're getting hoarde penalties??? Not that I don't enjoy deacking with a SBD, but five players difference with that kind of ENY is a fun killing machine.

Yeah, I despise furballers and country changers, sorry kettle, we're base takers. I see you switched countries last night as soon as I started posting missions, so much for that fantasy of switching to lowest numbers eh?  :lol

But if you're complaining about ENY, then that would mean that your country had more than the others.  Therefore, if ink changed from your country, then his leaving did you a favor.

Yeah it did. We didn't miss him much, that's for sure. Bustr owned him too and then he logged with an insult on 200, so we got a good laugh out of it as well.

It's not been 5 players difference, but ~12 (which would be ~160% of Rooks numbers)  ENY is based on your country vs lowest number country.
Also, for this kind if discussions a screenshot  would be really helpful. After all I do know it can't be true at all, because I heard Knights are always outnumbered in LWB  :noid

Well despite the responses from my fan club here, in all seriousness, the ENY system works fine when there's 500 players on the game, but when we're talking about a difference of five players, I think an ENY of 27 is waaaay overboard at 4:30 am.
There's got to be a better solution than limiting plane sets, I never got the whole hoarde whine thing anyway, yeah you're outnumbered sometimes, so what? Can you imagine the looks on the faces of the troops when you told them, "Well boys, we outnumber the Germans, so everybody turn in your M1's and get one of these muskets." ENY punishes teamwork, I can see it during prime time hours to suit those who just can't stand being outnumbered, but 5 players difference is a hoarde?

I was going to get a screen shot of the roster lusche to post, but everybody knows how the system works so I didn't bother with it.

Again, it's not about 5 players, ENY is based on lowest country numbers.
Also, it's about relative advantage. Absolute numbers do not tell anything, but players continue to use them to make a point that ist - "We have 5 players more and get ENY, yesterday they had 40 more and they didn't!". 5 players can mean 50% more players, 40 players can mean obly 5% more -depending on total arena numbers

I was going to get a screen shot of the roster lusche to post, but everybody knows how the system works so I didn't bother with it.

Better are screenshots of "war status", because roster doesn't tell ENY.

Either way the difference was no more than 10 players between the highest and lowest numbers. It's not so much of a problem during prime time hours because alot of players will switch or log, but late night and early morning it's a killer.
