GV's can not use rearm pads at all.

Hmm I will have to look at some code Monday.

ROFLMAO!!! There goes the gv rearm glitch...

From military experience, it's much easier to "field repair" a tank than it is to repair an airplane...unless the tank is shot to pieces one track can be replaced in 30 to 60 minutes...the power plant can be replaced in 45 minutes...guns, not possible, but a turret (depending on the type) can be replaced, radiators, fuel tanks, hatches, torsion bars, wheels, etc...all you need is a torch, a welder (diesel or gas), a vehicle that is capable of heavy lift, and some men.
Repairing aircraft is much more complicated...and rather than taking a few hours, it can take days or weeks depending on the damage...most heavily damage aircraft were scrapped out for parts to repair less damaged aircraft.
It just doesn't make sense to put a plane down on an airfield...pull into a hangar or open paddock...and sit there to get it repaired...
especially when you have a couple of kills racked up already...then take off again to risk the chance of getting shot down and losing those points just for the sake of simulating something that would be nothing more than a novelty. It would be faster to just exit the sortie and re-up in a fresh plane.
Seriously, wouldn't it make more sense to be able to change your fuel and ord/weapons loadouts on the rearm pad than try and simulate the replacement of an aileron or wing?
