« on: November 20, 2009, 04:29:25 AM »
CAn we get a code that if you don't up in 4hrs atleast once you automaticly get disco'ed. guys now in early and mid and sometimes late war will sit in towers for days waiting for perk points. /in mid and early this hurts guy whos alone and fighting 6 others but since 5 guys afk wanting perks he can't fly plane with out being in eny of 30. i think 4 hrs plenty no need to say afk longer would like 2hrs but i know to many will probally cry.

Think of it this way: ENY kicks in when your sides numbers are a certain percentage above the other sides'. In a low number arena like mid and early war, just a few people can make the difference. For example, if Side A has 15 people, and side B and C have 10 each, then Side A has a 50% advantage and will have an ENY penalty. The problem that the OP is pointing out is that 7 of the people on Side A may not be flying. They simply went to bed (or whatever) and stayed logged on hoping that Side A would win the war and they would get the perk points. This means Side A is actually flying at a 20% disadvantage to both the other sides (8 vs 10 vs 10) but is still being penalized by ENY for having a numbers advantage.

You sometimes hear the same complaint in the LWMAs if one side is approaching a reset late in the evening. People go to bed, but stay logged on in hopes of earning a few extra perks. In the end, it works against a reset because of ENY restrictions.

I've requested this before. And I entirely agree with it. It'd also help out with people camping around during primetime so that they can go to dinner with the family and not lose their spot while others are trying to get in.

On the other hand, I don't see why ENY isn't based on the InFlight number. It'd fluctuate a bit more, but it's a much better gauge of force than the overall numbers. In terms of coding, it seems like all that would be needed is a tiny change in code compared to a whole new kicking system.

I'll never forget an evening about 3 years ago.   People were balling on 200 constantly (Knights), Hub, Stang and I conspired in one of AH's funniest moments.   I suggested a bunch of Rooks switch to Knights.   In all, almost 20 switched, sending the ENY IIRC, to around 30.   Of course Hub, Stang and I were too busy typing "forgetting to reed t3h manuol" comments on 200/green text to even roll a plane.

Instead of grumbling, they knew we did it as a joke and everyone laughed their posteriors off.

Don't know why you'd sit in the tower waiting for your side to win for perks. Don't you only get 25 perks for that? I get more than that in 1 sortie! :D

Knights weren't "winning".   They had an ENY of 16 before we switched to increase the ENY.

He wasn't referring to you. Rather the earlier comments about people going AFK to bed when a war is close to over for the free perks.

You don't need to be online the moment the war gets won to get the perks for it.

On the other hand, I don't see why ENY isn't based on the InFlight number.

10 Players on a team in EW rolling the outnumbered side. ENY kicks in. If eny was based on "inflight only", all they now had to do is to land (ENY goes down), then spawn all at once in a mission.

Hmm...I suppose that's true. And any solution to that would be as complicated as an AFK-kick system.

Rods post once again offends reason. 5-6 guys are afk waiting for a map victory by the one guy in the air? Think about it.  :x

here you go being idiot again. these guys were afk all day waiting for reset. like i said, wheni get on bisg rooks milking witth no one on all afk. and you turn plainly simple srtatement around again. fact is not close to reset because during early morning no knights were on only afk. which helps others because if they kill one guy defending they get big perks because they are outnumbered by afk'ers. but 1 guy has to fly outdated planes trying to defnding with no ord no vh and in spit ones hurri 1's that can't kill tank and if lucky 1 o r 2 m3s before landing.

but then you follow being a ankle humper makeing stupid statements being a $#%^

You are over analyzing the game rod (and your insults are ridiculous too). Most of those guys in the tower are waiting for the ENY to come down (probably) or just reading the BBS while the ENY is too high for their favorite planes. Waiting in the tower for reset? Thats reading a little too much into it I think. Probably if it ever was changed the same guys would just log back in right away. This has been asked for before by the way (next time try doing a search) and never has it been added.
