November FSO "Too Little, Too Late" final score
« on: November 24, 2009, 04:58:38 PM »
Below is a breakdown of the scoring over the past three frames.

I want to salute all the 708 players who flew in this FSO and I appreciate all the feedback good or bad. FSO is a big undertaking and it's great to see new CiC's perform well and be so involved, like a lot of things in life, the more you put into it, the more you get from it.

so without further adu,

Frame 1
Ground
  • Allied Attack Points- 5053 (destroyed 28% of the targets)
  • Allied Defense Points- 9210

  • Axis Attack Points- 5518 (destroyed 37% of the targets)
  • Axis Defense Points- 12792

Air
  • Allied Pilots- 191
  • Allied Kills- 187 (downed 61% of the enemy for 10659 points)
  • Allied Landings- 80 (6800 points)
  • Allied Landing Bonus- 13 (1105 points)

  • Axis Pilots- 284
  • Axis Kills- 81 (downed 39% of the enemy for 6885 points)
  • Axis Landings- 56 (3192 points)
  • Axis Landing Bonus- 28 (1596 points)

Point Totals for Frame 1; Allied 32,827 (52%), Axis 29,983 (48%)

Frame 2
Ground
  • Allied Attack Points- 3924 (destroyed 35% of the targets)
  • Allied Defense Points- 5208

  • Axis Attack Points- 10976 (destroyed 68% of the targets)
  • Axis Defense Points- 7351

Air
  • Allied Pilots- 198
  • Allied Kills- 127 (downed 47% of the enemy for 6477 points)
  • Allied Landings- 62 (4278 points)
  • Allied Landing Bonus- 21 (1449 points)

  • Axis Pilots- 268
  • Axis Kills- 112 (downed 57% of the enemy for 7728 points)
  • Axis Landings- 93 (4743 points)
  • Axis Landing Bonus- 25 (1275 points)

Point Totals for Frame 2; Allied 21,336 (40%), Axis 32,073 (60%)

Frame 3
Ground
  • Allied Attack Points- 2222 (destroyed 18% of the targets)
  • Allied Defense Points- 12027

  • Axis Attack Points- 4201 (destroyed 26% of the targets)
  • Axis Defense Points- 10159

Air
  • Allied Pilots- 206
  • Allied Kills- 173 (downed 66% of the enemy for 9515 points)
  • Allied Landings- 54 (3726 points)
  • Allied Landing Bonus- 10 (690 points)
  • Allied PT Landing Bonus- 23 (23 points)

  • Axis Pilots- 268
  • Axis Kills- 117 (downed 57% of the enemy for 8073 points)
  • Axis Landings- 58 (3190 points)
  • Axis Landing Bonus- 11 (605 points)

Point Totals for Frame 3; Allied 28,203 (52%), Axis 26,228 (48%)

Setting each frame equal the score is as follows;

Frame 1-
  • Allied- 17.34
  • Axis- 15.99

Frame 2-
  • Allied- 13.33
  • Axis- 20.00

Frame 3-
  • Allied- 17.34

And that gives a narrow win to the Axis side.

Yeah, I enjoyed it too. Great Job!  :salute
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Interesting to see the axis win through bombing with the B5N. :)

Interesting to see the axis win through bombing with the B5N. :)

I think a lot of that has to do with they type of ordinance (250kg bombs) the B5N's were carrying as opposed to the 100lb bombs the B17's were using.  Also... in the case of the missions we flew, we used the B5N's as dive bombers, which greatly increased accuracy and the ability to hit more than one target on a pass... where as the 17's were limited to level bombing with the manually calibrated bombsights, which some have difficulty using.  Adding to that difficultly, the only place to practice with the manual sight, is the AvA... as the sights in all other areas are the automatic ones.

In frame 2 we were assigned to base defense, and noticed that of the B-17's that did manage to get through, very few hit anywhere near their targets.

You can set up the manual bombsite offline.  That's where I practiced and used it successfully in the B5N.

In frame 2, the 332nd mongrels level bombed with the B5N with great success. We had great escort which made it easier, we had time to calibrate.

DOH! I didnt think of that.  Oh well, its a great dive bomber as well, even without dive brakes. :)
