v1 and v2
« on: November 25, 2009, 12:30:50 PM »
Ok I knowb it probably has been hashed out but plz hear me out.

V1 drone bomb; assign to uncapturable bases using bomber perkies, the pilot would then select the base he would like to attack and launch it. To make it fair the pilot would then be attached to it like he was piloting it. He would have no control over it such as steering it or final glide. The final target would be random such as bomber hanger... Troops.... Radar.... Town...

Now before I get flamed about people doing major salvos of the v1 to other countries there would only be a set salvo of 4.

Also there I know we have planes that can intercept it so there would be no problems with that.

What do you guys think???

I don't believe they were accurate enough to hit bases.

That would be the gambling part of it.

That would be the gambling part of it.

It wouldn't be even gambling. If modeled correctly, you would have almost no hope at all to hit a base, or strategic target. At short ranges, the V1 had a 50% mean circular error radius of about 8 miles. When shooting at London, that 50% radius was about 12 miles.

The final target would be random such as bomber hanger... Troops.... Radar.... Town...

They were aimed at whole cities, not individual installations.

I see your point lusche but with it being a game they would be able to adjust what can be done. But all in all it would be a gamble for the player to take.

As long as you didn't get any points for it unless you actually hit a structure...and the deaths count against your k/d ratio...oh and no possibility of bailing off the thing before it hits.  :D

Nope no bailing from it. You ride it to the end. And it doesn't hurt your k/d ratio. You bail from it it dissapears.

Yawn....

I guess bombs are not given any sort of accuracy modifiers? A bomb sight that is not perfect? No duds?

Almost every area of this game has reduced real world variables....

Not going to happen before artillery. While both are stand-off weapons, the V1 and V2 didn't support any offensive opperations if I'm correct.

Maybe will happen eventually, but definately not before artty.

No they are not. Its the lack of wind and atmospheric conditions that make our bombs so accurate.
